GL.iNet Comet 5G KVM Switch (GL-RM10RC)

The GL.iNet Comet 5G (GL-RM10RC) is an advanced KVM switch that enables remote management of computers, servers, and workstations from anywhere in the world. As the first model of its kind equipped with 5G RedCap connectivity, it provides an independent Out-of-Band (OOB) access channel that operates outside the local network infrastructure. With support for 4K@30 FPS video, bidirectional audio, Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, and 64 GB of built-in eMMC storage, the device allows you to maintain full control over your equipment even if the primary network goes down.

Independent Access via 5G RedCap

Comet 5G utilizes 5G RedCap technology with support for 4G LTE networks as a backup connection. This allows it to operate independently of local Ethernet and Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring continuous access to devices even in the event of network misconfiguration or a failure of the primary internet connection. The Multi-Network Failover feature automatically switches the connection between Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and the cellular network, maintaining an active management channel.

4K Video and Smooth Real-Time Performance

The device supports video transmission at resolutions up to 4K at 30 frames per second using hardware-based H.264 encoding. A latency of 30–60 ms allows for comfortable operation of operating systems, BIOS configuration, and administrative tasks. Built-in FEC technology helps maintain smooth operation even under less stable network conditions.

HDMI Passthrough and Two-Way Audio

The Comet 5G supports HDMI Passthrough via the HDMI Out port, ensuring that the local monitor remains active during a remote session. Two-way audio enables conversations, technical support, and communication with users at the remote workstation. This solution works well for both hardware diagnostics and day-to-day administrative tasks.

Nearby Control and Offline Access

The device can create its own local wireless network in AP mode, allowing you to manage equipment even in environments isolated from the Internet. The Nearby Control feature allows you to connect to the Comet 5G without using a monitor, keyboard, or mouse—just a laptop or tablet. This is a practical solution when working in server rooms, laboratories, and locations with limited access to network infrastructure.

Secure Management from Any Device

The Comet 5G provides access via a web browser without installing additional software, regardless of the operating system used. The device allows you to manage the BIOS interface directly from a modern web browser, while also working with dedicated applications. The built-in Wake on LAN feature and support for additional power management accessories allow you to remotely power on, reboot, and regain access to devices.

Large Touchscreen and Generous Storage

The switch is equipped with a 3.69-inch touchscreen that facilitates local configuration and monitoring of the device’s status. The built-in 64 GB eMMC storage can be used to store system images, installation files, service tools, and data needed for remote operating system deployment and software updates.
